About our Electorate

The Mount Gambier Electorate

From our vibrant city centre to our productive farming districts and stunning coastline, the Mount Gambier electorate is one of South Australia’s most diverse and dynamic regional communities.

Located in the heart of the Limestone Coast, the electorate is centred on Mount Gambier, South Australia’s second-largest city, and includes surrounding communities such as Port MacDonnell, Kongorong, Allendale East, Yahl, Moorak, Compton and Tarpeena.

The region is renowned for its natural attractions, including the iconic Blue Lake, Umpherston Sinkhole, Mount Schank and the rugged coastline stretching to Port MacDonnell, South Australia’s southernmost town.

The Mount Gambier electorate is a major economic driver for the state, with key industries including forestry, agriculture, manufacturing, transport, tourism, healthcare and education. The region is also home to world-class food and wine production and plays a vital role in South Australia’s export economy.

The electorate falls within the boundaries of the City of Mount Gambier and the District Council of Grant, with both councils playing an important role in supporting the growth and development of our region.

As a community, we are proud of our strong regional identity, hardworking people and the lifestyle opportunities that make the Limestone Coast such a great place to live, work and raise a family.
